Overview

This service includes the education and investigation of communicable diseases, reporting to the Minnesota Department of Health outbreaks of diseases that spread, and the administration of immunizations.

Infectious Disease Management 

Watonwan County Public Health responds to infectious communicable diseases with prompt investigations to protect the health of our community. Investigations may include in person interviews, education, screening of risk status, testing of high risk individuals exposed, medication case management, and clinic/hospital coordination. Investigations are conducted in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Health.

Immunizations

Immunizations are one of the best weapons we have against a number of serious diseases. 

Watonwan County Public Health offers a number of immunizations through the Minnesota Vaccines for Children Program (MnVFC) and the Uninsured and Underinsured Adult Vaccine Program (UUAV) program which provides free vaccine to eligible participants.
