The County Jail
Overview
The Watonwan County Jail works with other criminal justice agencies, the courts, social service agencies, and the citizens of Watonwan County toward providing secure detention for all who are incarcerated at the Watonwan County Jail in order to enhance public safety, and to provide accountability for individuals under sentence for criminal offenses.
All prisoners in custody at the Watonwan County Jail will be held in a manner consistent with all state and federal laws and in accordance with the rules and guidelines established by the Minnesota Department of Corrections. There is no physical or psychological maltreatment of any prisoner in custody at the Watonwan County Jail.
All prisoners shall be rendered human dignity. No prisoner shall be discriminated against because of race, color, religion, gender, ethnic background, or economic status. The Watonwan County Jail is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year.
