Will my son / daughter be represented by an attorney?
Yes, if this is a felony or Children In Need of Protection or Services (CHIPs) case, the child is automatically appointed a public defender. If it is a petty misdemeanor, the child is not entitled to one. You will have to obtain your own attorney if the child wants one.
